Even though fashion tries to celebrate the return of curves, the androgynous 22-year-old danish is everywhere this season.

Where does she come from?

Freja Beha Erichsen was born on October 18th, 1987 in Roskilde, in Dannemark. She dreamed of becoming a rock star when she was spotted at the age of 17 on a street of Copenhagen. In March, 2005, she makes her debut at the Prada fashion show- a renowned label for its capacity to find future celeb models. A couple of months later, the public rediscovers her in the Jil Sander and Balenciaga campaigns. In 2007, she catches Karl Lagerfeld’s eye, o hires her for the Chanel fashion show.

Why is she so successful?

Last February, she featured in 43 fashion shows. In a season where mostly curvy models made their appearance, Freja Beha proved that todays designers aren’t even close to ready to give up stick figured models to embrace their clothing. But she doesn’t just have a nice body, her large forhead, perfectly drawn lips and high cheekbones make her face is the dream for make up and hair stylists.

Her attitude is also very attractive. Unlike most young models, she doesn’t accentuate the ovement of her hips when she walks letting the cloths she wears do all the work. She is also one of the calmest models you could find. in between shows, she just goes for a smoke away from all the commotion and chats with fellow models her cutest smile on her face.
